Amy Harris is a Lake Tahoe local who grew up playing outdoors and breathing in the fresh mountain air. Over ten years ago Amy started practicing yoga as it healed her body and mind while she competed in ski racing and soccer. She believes that both the body and mind must be strong and balanced and incorporates this philosophy into her classes by working on balancing poses and also breath work. She completed her 200-hour training with School Yoga Institute in Fort Collins, Colorado in June 2012. Her training focused on Hatha and Vinyasa flows with a strong emphasis on anatomy and alignment. Guiding people through yoga and avoiding injury is a priority for Amy, and she believes yoga is more about going through the process of the asanas rather than trying to force the body into a “perfect” pose. For Amy, yoga, local and organic foods and outdoor adventure all fuel each other. They are all essential and important for living happy and full lives. www.highsierrayoga.com

Angie Fraley began her yoga practice while pregnant with her first child 10 years ago. Since that time, she    has explored as many variations of yoga as possible. After diving into a year long 500 hour Advanced Yoga Studies and Training Program, she began teaching in 2009. Always up for a challenge, Angie looks for ways to help her students bring their attention back to the present moment during class. This yoga tool is used to encourage classroom practice into daily living where an extraordinary life can be made out of ordinary moments. Her love of people fuels her classes to incorporate lively music, a sense of humor, a bit of challenge, and play.www.om2art.com

Dotty Molt ~ “Yoga awakens us to the light within ourselves, allowing us to shine with radiance from the attainment of balance between mind, body and spirit”. A native Floridian, Dotty moved to the mountains above Reno in 2006 and began teaching yoga. Her practice began reluctantly in 2001. “I didn’t like Yoga the first five times I tried it, my wrists hurt, I couldn’t follow the flow, and being an adrenaline junkie, the classes felt slow and tedious. Then, one day, everything began to make sense. I understood why we practice, I “saw the light”, my body became stronger, my thoughts clearer, I was hooked!” Now a 200 hour RYT, she shares her joyful, improvisational practice with all those who seek strength, balance, and flexibility. “If you find a place where you feel empowered in your practice, the benefits of your hard work are exponential. You may even find a place someday where you will become light driven.”

Edin Carpenter has been a student of yoga for over 5 years. Beginning with a strong emphasis on practicing Ashtanga and Power yoga’s, she later branched out to incorporate Hot Yoga styled practices, as well as, Iyengar, Yin, and finally Vinyasa Flow. After studying these unique styles of practice, each with different challenges & benefits, she realized she wanted not only to become an instructor but also create a class style and sequence that incorporated the best aspects from each practice along with infusing current & upbeat music. Edin completed her Hatha Yoga certification at Vikasa Yoga in Koh Samui, Thailand in May. Edin was selected to teach classes at Vikasa during her certification and since her return to the states has taught privately and subbed at The Studio Reno. The Studio is excited to introduce her new class, Warm Power Flow (level 2) starting on the 24th, every Monday & Friday from 4:30-6pm.

Marla is a professional dancer and has been drawn to movement from a young age, exploring numerous avenues of body and energy work in her travels such as tai chi, qi gong, reiki, and finding a deep love and appreciation for yoga. After 6 years of a dedicated practice exploring many different styles, she received her 200 hour training in Guatemala, leaving strongly rooted to the essence of the teaching, which she feels created a space for transition and growth on many levels in her day to day life.  She feels so blessed for the opportunity to share this with her students, friends and family, loving the journey she is on and knowing it is only in its infant stage.
