Ease in to yoga with this practice featuring basic postures and proper alignment
If you’re looking to begin or return to a yoga practice, or are curious about what yoga is and feels like, this class is the perfect place to start.
Beginner’s Yoga class is based on the Hatha style of yoga, which means we play with marrying movement with breath and staying in postures for a while. This class offers a moderate practice with plenty of modifications, giving opportunities to increase or decrease intensity. Postures are built up with slow and steady steps and micro movements to keep the body moving. Once the posture is warmed into, we may hold it for a while, as opposed to the more rapid flow of other vinyasa classes. The goal here is to explore the internal sensation of the position and to stay with the breath.
This slow and steady style helps to calm the nervous system and allows you to establish a firm foundation for your practice in a supportive environment. Time will be given after class to allow for questions and confusions.
