Modern Dance Workshop

If you missed the first workshop, this April Ivy will be returning with a weekender session for a kickoff into Spring. Whether you’re a practiced dancer or a beginner, both classes will give students the opportunity to explore movement, learn basic dance techniques, and have fun! Come solo or with a friend and check out the definitions below for both classes!Jazz Funk is a fusion of Jazz, Hip Hop, Contemporary, and Sensual movement! It’s often powerful, groovy, and dynamic. Above all, it’s meant to be playful and FUN. No experience required!
Modern Dance is a free and expressive style of dance rooted in concepts like release, improvisation, and a fusion of styles like Contemporary and Ballet. In this class, students will be barefoot and learn basic Modern Dance techniques, how to count music, and how to put together a sequence of movement that they can make their own.
